Kitchen Cabinets

They are SO close to being done

This project is currently going 7 months strong. I’m hopeful that once kids get back in school it can start moving a bit more quickly.

Wedding Dress

Sweet Alteration for a Sweet Bride

Vintage white lace wedding dress from 1980s

Once I tried to make sewing how I was going to make my millions, and undervalued myself, overstressed my back and neck muscles and burnt out most of my creative energy with it. Now I do mainly alterations and occasionally some custom work and have about as much work as I want.

Right now I’m altering a wedding dress for a girl in my community. Its a sweet vintage 1980’s lace dress.

Kitchen Renovation

It started strong, but now is waiting for me to finish the cabinets.

Kitchen wall demolished preparing for an arched opening

I’m making Kitchen Cabinets and sometimes I put both the kitchen renovation and the kitchen cabinet build together as one project, but really it isn’t.

The kitchen hasn’t really changed much in the last 7 months. Well, take that back, certain parts and changed a lot, but since the original cabinets are still in I don’t thing it’s much, especially compared to everything I have planned.

And boy do I have plans.

What has changed?

Two arched openings in the middle of construction in kitchen

The openings, which meant I needed to move electrical, which meant I needed to rerun some lines because they were too short.

What is left?

  • Take out the tile,

  • Take out the cabinets,

  • Finish the drywall/skimcoat all the walls,

  • Install a pocket door (make a pocket door)

  • Install finished cabinets,

  • Install sink

  • Get countertops templated, bought, and installed.

The goal is to have it mostly done by October. The flooring might wait a bit, we’ll see.

Market Goods

Things I’m working on for a market.

My cousin in Idaho invited several of her cousins/friends to collaborate on a market stall for a Renaissanse Faire. I haven’t make things for other people before, so I figured this would be a magical introduction into the world of making things for markets.

I had big plans, like I do, to make jewelry boxes and a whole slew of things. Then I injured myself in a woodworking accident and had to stay out of the sawdust for two weeks. Even with the setback, I am pretty happy about the things I have been able to make.

Hopefully I’ll keep making and offer things like this on here, soon.
